QBeta Ltd was established in 2005 by Jim Thomason, a 42 year-old Engineering Graduate. You may ask what does an engineer know about the management of bars? Having spent a lot of time in pubs and bars, both as a former barman and as a customer, Jim had a vision.

The question was simple. Why don’t busy pubs and nightclubs have fair queuing systems? Bars must be one of few places in society where people frequently forget their manners by pushing to the front.

The solution required needed to be simple for staff to administer and easy for customers to understand. After talking to many customers in numerous bars, it became clear that a ticket-based queue improvement system was the ideal answer to the problem.
